Description:

Gm Solana: Introduction to Blockchain and NFTs for Artists and Creators is a book that teaches the basic concepts that anyone needs to know to be able to navigate through Web3 and the NFTs. This book will provide readers with an introductory overview of NFTs, Web3 and how they are relevant. Readers will be introduced to all the concepts that they need to know to better understand blockchain and NFTs, how they work, where they could fit in the world and why these ideas are important for the ongoing evolution of the internet.

Future Plans:

This is the first iteration of our book and we would love to create more editions with additional content including:

• Other Blockchains: We would love to include more information about other blockchains. We will keep Solana as the primary blockchain of discussion since that is where the book started but it would be especially great to include data from other blockchains that have a thriving NFT community.
• Additional illustrations from artists and from projects: Although we are in Web3, we still trust more traditional forms of agreement to feature the illustrations from other people’s work. We would love to explore and find the best way to feature artwork from web3 through the illustrations in this book.
• Features on particular NFT projects:  We would love to feature projects who have been established for over a year and are still active. Even though we are in web3, we want to ensure we are taking a responsible approach when portraying and representing other artists and projects.

I am NOiSY COYOTE, multidisciplinary artist and educator. I create music, visual art, and layouts for books like the one you are reading now! I have published multiple books of poetry, released numerous albums, and am nearly complete with the 100 piece SoloType collection of typewriter art on the Solana blockchain. I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

My name is Kyle Hinton aka Simulations, and I’m a multi-disciplined artist who is dedicated to technology, writing and a variety of other mediums.
I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember but most of my experience is in playwriting, blog writing and poetry. I’m absolutely grateful to have seen some of my work read publicly. I’ve been enthusiastically building and experimenting with NFTs and Web3 since 2021, when I became curious about the technology and learned about how empowering blockchain and NFTs could be for artists and creators. In 2021, I helped develop and design an educational project called “Disinformation Warriors”, which taught youth about being critical and seeking truth while also teaching them about animation. The website has articles and the finished animations about critical thinking and truth seeking.

I am grateful to have a BA in Drama with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Alberta and a certificate in Object Oriented Software Development from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. I was also an education assistant for 8 years, prior to that, and have taken courses on education for adults.
